Today I will join a few small news that I found. First is Phoronix with "11 Versions Of WINE Benchmarked.", then Dell extends their Ubuntu line and the ATI Open Source driver was updated and released.

Hoje vou fazer um resumo de pequenas noticias que encontrei. Primeiro temos o site Phoronix com um "11 versões de Wine testadas.", depois temos a Dell a estender a sua linha de Linux e por fim o driver Open Source da ATI foi actualizado e publicado.

Avant Window Navigator (AWN)

What is Avant Window Navigator (AWN)? It's a Mac OSX like dock for Linux. It's a work in progrees (isn't every Open Source project?) but it's already at a very usable stage. "All About Linux" has a small how-to install on Ubuntu.

O que é Avant Window Navigator (AWN)? É uma dock "à lá" Mac OSX. É um projecto em desenvolvimento (não é assim com qualquer projecto Open Source?) mas já está num estado muito usável. "All About Linux" tem um pequeno how-to para instalar em Ubuntu.

Sun buys Innotek / Sun adquire Innotek

Maybe some of you are saying Ino... who? Innotek is the maker of VirtualBox a virtualization software like VMWare but it as a Open Source base and a Open Source version. After getting their hand on MySQL Sun is really on a Open Source buying spree. Hope this doesn't kill VirtualBox on the long run. More details (Brazilian Portuguese link) here. Talvez alguns de vocês estão a dizer Ino... quem? Innotek é quem faz o software VirtualBox que é um software de virtualização, assim como o VMWare mas a diferença é que tinha a base e uma versão Open Source. Depois de ter posto as mãos na MySQL a Sun está numa espiral de compras Open Source. Esperemos que não signifique a morte do VirtualBox no longo prazo. Mais detalhes aqui.
