Asus Eee PC price in Europe / Preço do Asus Eee PC

Just found out about a large online German retailer that as the Eee PC at an almost direct price conversion from dollars to euros. Which is quite amazing. Posted on Cyberport.de is the price of 299€ for a White or ... Black version of the Eee PC 4G. That is excellent news. Given today exchange rate that is only about 17€ more than the 399$ price. Excellent news for the Eee PC lovers!!!

Acabei de descobrir um grande vendedor online Alemão que tem o Asus Eee PC quase à conversão directa dólares para euros. O que é extraordinário. Já disponível no Cyberport.de ao preço de 299€ para a versão branca ou ... preta do Eee PC 4G. São excelentes noticias. Dada a taxa de conversão cambial de hoje são só cerca de 17€ a mais do que os 399$. Excelentes noticias para os aficionados do Eee PC!!!

Asus EEE PC review (updated) / Teste ao Asus EEE PC (actualizado)

You've already heard about this little piece of hardware here in the blog. It's on top of my wish list, right next in line to the Openmoko Phone the FIC Neo 1973 which I haven't talked about it yet. It's the Asus EEE PC. I've been following the launch of this revolutionary laptop. It's small, it's highly portable (only 0,92Kg or about 2 pounds) and uses Linux and other Open Source software. I don't know where to buy here in Portugal, even in Europe I only heard about a web store in England. Well, if anyone from Asus is reading, I wouldn't mind making a review if I can get my hands on one, I even have two daughters to test it with the target you aim ;) . Now seriously, I'm writing to give you notice of the first review I got my eyes on. It's from a full production model, and it was done by laptopmag.com. Go there and see why small and cheap isn't synonym of a bad product. On the contrary, they say "... Pound for pound, the best value-priced notebook on the planet." so go read it.

Vocês já leram aqui no blog sobre esta pequena peça de hardware. Está no topo da minha lista de desejos, logo ao lado do telefone que lança o Openmoko, o FIC Neo 1973 que ainda não falei sobre ele, ainda. É o Asus EEE PC. Tenho seguido de perto o lançamento deste portátil revolucionário. É pequeno, é leve (só 0,92Kg) e usa Linux e outro software Open Source. Não sei onde se poderá comprar em Portugal, ou mesmo na Europa só ainda vi numa loja online em Inglaterra. Bem, se alguém da Asus estiver a ler, eu não me importava de fazer uma review se eu conseguir meter as mãos em cima de um exemplar, eu até tenho duas filhas pequenas que são um dos publico alvo do vosso produto ;) . Agora a sério, estou a escrever para vos dar conhecimento da primeira review que consegui por os meus olhos em cima. É de um modelo de produção e foi feito pelo site da laptopmag.com. Vão lá e vejam porque é que nem sempre pequeno e barato é sinónimo de um mau produto. Pelo contrário, eles dizem "... Kg por Kg, é o melhor portátil do mundo em valor." por isso vão ler já.

Asus Eee PC + Mac OSX 10.4/5 ?

Well, you don like Windows (so strange ... LOL) but Linux also isn't for you? What about Mac OSX? Yeah? So now you can have Mac OSX on your Asus Eee PC! That's right. You can have 10.5 (Leopard) but to get a better performance it's advisable to get 10.4.8. The guys hover uneasysilence explain it better. Just awsome! And you don't need to be afraid because Asus has a remarkable recover DVD that restores your Eee PC to the standard OS with no fuss. "There are fantastic things, aren't there?" (portuguese joke!).

Bem, vocês não gostam de Windows (que estranho... LOL) mas Linux também não é para vocês? E que tal Mac OSX? Sim? Então agora já podem ter Mac OSX no vosso Asus Eee PC! É verdade. Podem ter o Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopardo) mas para ter uma performance melhor é aconselhável a 10.4.8. Os rapazes do uneasysilence explicam melhor. Simplesmente genial! E não precisam de estar receosos porque a Asus tem um DVD de recuperação bestial que reinstala o Eee PC para o OS standard sem problema nenhum. "Há coisas fantásticas, não há?". LOL!!!
