Blackbird

I never used Javascript. There I said it, and being a sysadmin/programmer this is shameful? Is it? Not really I think, but I have friends who use Javascript massively and they say to me that this really rocks! Think of it as a new way of making debug in Javascript like you do with the alert but without it :) Confusing? Go to Blackbird site to see what I mean.

Eu nunca usei Javascript. Pronto já disse, e vindo de um administrador de sistemas/programador isso é uma vergonha? Será mesmo? Eu acho que não, e como tenho alguns amigos que usam Javascript com muita frequência eles disseram-me que este é realmente bom! Pensem nele como uma maneira de fazer debug em Javascript como fazem com o alert mas sem o alert :) Confuso? Então vão até ao site do Blackbird para perceberem melhor o que eu digo.

Mozilla Fennec

"Fen?!? what?" You say. :) Fennec it's the name to the new mobile version of Mozilla's Web Browser. It seam's it's really a major improvement over existing browser's especially in terms of speed. Also being based on Gecko engine you can have existing extensions migrating with minimun or no code change. And also bookmark's, preferences from your desktop Firefox. Great stuff isn't it? I think it is. ArsTechnica has an interview with the person responsible for the development and a small preview.

Parece ser um grande passo em frente em relação aos que existem principalmente em termos de velocidade. E também por ser baseado no motor Gecko podem esperar que as extensões do Firefox possam, com nenhuma ou pouca alteração de código, passar para o Fennec. E também tudo o que é bookmark e preferências. Excelente não? Eu penso que sim. O site ArsTechnica tem uma entrevista com o responsável de desenvolvimento e uma pequena análise do Fennec.

This is not new, it has some days, but I think it's well worth the news. Boot an EeePC from start to CPU and Disk idle in 5 seconds! Without background loads tricks nor anything else.

Isto não é uma noticia fresca, tem alguns dias , mas eu acho que vale bem a noticia. Fazer boot num EeePC desde o inicio até ter o CPU e o Disco em idle em 5 segundos! Sem truques de load em background, nem nada do género.

Another excellent piece of software. If you need CRM and Project management then OpenGoo is your way to go. Excelent feature set, design, etc. Just brilliant! Another small review.

It's out and it's quite a small revolution and a base to future great improvements. Since changes on the user interface that are long awaited to integrastion of a new library (GEGL) that will allow "...high
bit-depth and non-destructive editing...". Check the release notes to get all the new stuff.
